Well, glad you are all excited there!
First off, make sure you have all your lisences in place and have read the regulation booklet at least twice over for the area you are going to be hunting and make sure you have permission if you need to get it on either private or lease land.

Never been firm there but it's southern Alberta do bring good boots and and either gators or chaps .
The places I have hinted gown there have some big thorns ,roses and cacti !
Bring lots of water and a good jacket in case the weather turns .

Are you hunting with a dog?
Bring lots of water fir the dog if you are and don't forget wire cutters and pliers . A vest is also a very you'd accessory for carrying your birds .

Yes, it is. I'll just find some ruffed grouses, spruce grouses, and some gray partridges.

Don't think you'll find any ruffed or spruce out there but you for sure will find some sharp tails and partridge, can't say as I've ever seen any Phesants out there but I haven't hunted there since the NC bought the ranch.. Good luck, it's more of a mule deer place, you might get some waterfowl along the river..

PS... Remember sharp tails don't open till Oct 1

Jim..

From the questions it's clear that you have no clue what you're doing. I would advise you to have someone mentor you in the hunt, as even the species you're looking for don't exist in the location that you're hunting.

It's just my first time of hunting. There are so much things I need to learn, but for sure I will follow the regulations and identify the species before taking any shooting. Thank you for the suggestions.

It's more of a BIG grassland country with not a lot of farmland around the ranch but I would look for partridges along the south and west boundrys where it meets up with some farmland. Coyotes you could find everywhere on the ranch but last I heard was they don't want hunters shooting them, not sure why anyone would want to eat a jackrabbit as that's all you will find for rabbits out there, maybe a few bush bunnys along the river.
