Default Spray Lakes Ice Fishing video 2014

Finished this video at the end of last season. Thought I would wait until the start of this season to share as an appetizer for upcoming season. It was early March. The first couple fish on the video were RMWF and the rest lakers. It was a pretty fun weekend took in the scotch and cigar show at Nakoda resort on Friday and Saturday evenings and ice fished in between on Saturday Morning.

Good luck with the upcoming ice fishing season and stay warm and dry.

Looks awesome, hope to try it this year if the wretched gravel roads permit! Never targeted whites there under the ice

Nice video, I did not have a very good season there last year but the casting has been good since ice out.

I fish there or goat pond almost daily, road is not so bad atm. The worst is when it is thawing.

The advice on fishing in shallow water for the whitefish is good, I will fish the shallows with nymphs or maggots.

if you want to go out for big lakers I would suggest fishing in the portions of the reservoir that were a natural lake in the past. I used to fish the bottom of the depths, but I find going a few meters off it will greatly increase your success.

Jigging a carolina rig or buzz bomb with a wide gap worm hook and smelt is my go to method. Sometimes I will thread the smelts with a worm hook and place a small treble at the tail, not really necessary.
