So what happens when my wife is in my house when I am not home? Same idea as her driving my truck. As a homeowner she has access to everything regardless of licence!

This is exactly my question.

I am unable to find a definition of 'transportation' or 'storage' in the act.

I did find a definition for

“unattended”, in respect of a vehicle, means that the vehicle is not under the direct and immediate supervision of a person who is 18 years of age or older or to whom a licence has been issued under the Act. (non surveillé)

When a firearm is placed into a vehicle it is called transportation.

Quote:
(2) Subject to subsection (3), an individual may transport a non-restricted firearm in an unattended vehicle only if
As per above, if a vehicle is unattended, the firearm within that vehicle is not deemed to be in storage, it is simply in an unattended vehicle, therefore regulated by the transportation rules.

You may be correct, but without citation of authority, how would we know?

I thought that I had a good understanding of the requirements of the Act, but now I am just confused. I suspect I am not alone.

The referenced text of the Act is the citation of authority. When in a vehicle, a firearm is being transported, unattended in a vehicle does not change the effect of transportation. It is in a means of conveyance, not in a place of storage.
