Default Minnewanka with a kayak

Hey there,

I plan on fishing minnewanka with a kayak this weekend and I was wondering on how and where I should fish to have the best success.

I was thinking of jigging tubes right off the bottom in 50ft, I have a fish finder so I can find different depths.

Should I go by the point next to the docks?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Best of luck, but be careful. That lake can go from dead calm to whitecaps in a very short time.

This time of year, head to the point on the other side of the Cascade River bay, and slowly jig, or deep troll in wide S patterns out towards the centre of the lake.

This time of yr if you are going to jig you may want to try in the 100fow

But as another post said be very mindful of the wind. If you go too far down the lake and it comes up suddenly which happens often you could be in for one heck of a ride.
