Default 353 Antlerless Moose

Howdy
I’m relatively new to hunting, as this upcoming season will be only my third year. I recently got drawn for my first antlerless moose up in WMU 353, so I’m pretty excited, though I have a few questions.
1. How plentiful are moose up there, specifically in late September?
2. Is there a specific time when moose are primarily out, like deer?
3. What are the best spots for moose in 353?
4. Any tips on calling/attracting moose to a certain spot?
Any answers are appreciated. Thanks!

Lots of moose in that zone. Go near water first light and last 2 hours of day although see them all day long sometimes depending on weather. Calling moose is easy really nothing hard about hunting anterless moose there pretty stupid you can almost walk up and hit them

Just to make sure you are aware, you can only harvest antlerless moose on a certain portion of 353, the west side of it. Double check the map in the regs.

Caribou protection area.

359 antlerless tags issued last year, 358 this year, even people with zero priority were getting drawn.

Add to that 158 Antlered moose till end of October and a further 128 for the month of November.

Might be a bit crowded. Don't doubt there will be a spate of I thought I was far enough west when I shot this cow!!!

That area gets hit harder and harder each year. I drive 40 north and lots of the off roads for work and ur lucky to see a few deer these days. That being said i see the odd moose so wish u well. Also with the all day quad hunting up there it sucks to have a quad rip past u at first light.
