Default P.a.l.

Sent out my pal a few days ago, is the 3 month wait period the average or will I be waiting for a while longer?

It could be three months, it could be six months, depending on the current backlog, and how lucky you are.

My first PAL took 5 months. If you just mailed it now, being hunting season I would expect to be waiting at least 4-6 months

A lot of the time it comes down to how easily your references are contacted. I think they are mailing out letters requesting your references to phone in at their convenience instead of playing phone tag.

I have a friend who waited six months before finding out his brother hadn't gotten around to making the phone call. Once the call was made he had his pal within two weeks.

^^^ this is 100% correct , brother in law delayed my rpal 6 weeks because he didn't return the reference call to the cfo

Is your PAL a New Application or a Renewal ?

I e mailed my Renewal in on a Thursday afternoon with pic, the PAL was approved and issued on Friday. It was mailed out monday and I had it by that Friday. About 8 days and I had my new card.

I heard a rumour if you call and politely ask the status it sort of reminds them and while they have the file up they just deal with it.

Or... you **** them off and they throw you to the back of the line.

Got mine in about 40 days a few months ago, they never called my references. I checked on line and there was no info, so I called after two weeks and they said it wasn't in the system.
I called a week later still wasn't in the system.
4th week I checked online and it said it was approved, I received it a few days later.

Performed on line RPAL renewal on Nov 1. Had new card in my hands on Nov 19. That is PDQ.
