Default Fall blackies

Hey there,
I'm interested in hunting fall black bear, and after scrounging around for good whereabouts I thought I'd inquire here. Coming from Calgary, I've spent some time in Bluerock Wildland, but haven't seen any signs. Gathering so far that I may be best to head either south to 402 or north/west of Sundre in 318.

I'm not seeking trophies, just meat, fat, and fur. Am I getting too late in the season for many of them to be out and about still?

If anyone has pointers or experience I'd much appreciate the advice. Here or pm. Cheers!

it's getting late in the season, and with that cold front coming, they will all den up very quickly

If you’re serious about doing some spot and stalk for a blackie head up to the Peace country and scout the river valleys.
