Smile My first wolf with my foxpro :)

Hey guy I just wanted to share my story while I was coyote hunting this summer past I decided to go set up on the quarter section next to us. That farmer had granted us permission to access do to excessive coyote population. I turned on the foxpro for about 15 minutes using distress calls and nothing ! I turned on coyote challenge howl and I had a coyote answer is for about 45 minutes back and forth during that 45 minutes I tried almost every sound to bring her out of the tree line. As I was getting impatient I decided to give 1 more call give or take I'm leaving. I honestly couldn't think the rest of those words through my mind when a beautiful alberta timber wolf walks out and locks on to my mojo critter and he came marching in like he was the boss and nobody was going to do anything about it while he was coming across the field I could still here the coyote on the bush line calling back and the wolf with not a care in his mind. I let the wild come to about 2 yards of the call and dropped him with my .17 this was my best experience I'm predator hunting . I LOVE MY FOXPRO . I've had so manny double headers with coyotes but that day was very special to me . Thank you for taking the time to read my experience [IMG][/IMG]

Congratulations on your Wolf!

Perhaps try shortening the durations of your calling in the future. This tact may well bring in the game close! Simply think of calling as a conversation Sir.

Looks like a great wolf, very lucky. I only have one critic' next time when doing a pic - bolt open muzzle not pointed at you or camera man. Other then that awesome job.

I can't believe he didn't shoot himself ! He didn't open the bolt and it wasn't pointed to the ground whatever ! Some people's children. Nice wolf buddy , must have hit him hard right where it counts with that round !!

Well done.
You won't hear coyotes howl in an area with wolves just for that reason.
Good choice on the call.
Hope you get some more now that they are prime.

Default To many non believers

I love how many guys out there have no clue about the power of a 17....to small, not enogh power blah blah blah...fantastic job man on that wolf..
I have shot close to 200 coyotes with my 17.thats calling em in as will as road huntin em..185 yrds was my farthest N dropped the a scurvy dog dead as it gets.if I have em under 100 yrds ill head shoot em if I have a good enough rest.1/2" group at 100yrds.most times lung shot an just watch em run n tumble.

I love the fact that if he said he shot it with a 223 or 22 250 not a Word woulda been said about the gun...hahaha

I have. 204 I barely use..like the 17.better....

Congrats young man, kill as many as you see In the meantime you should not be pointing a rifle at yourself under any circumstances, that's how accidents happen!
