Default Tree problems

Hi Guys,

I have a few trees that aren't looking so good and I'm not sure what to do. Looking for some advice on how to handle this or if anyone can tell exactly what is going on, some info on the net says possibly poplar borers? Also heard of some sort of bacterial wet wood? There are also a ton of ants crawling all over these trees, not sure if they have anything to do with it or are just taking advantage of the sap.

I have heard to cut them all down and maybe burn them to stop the spread, but would rather not do that if there is a better way, any advice or info is appreciated.

Thanks

I had a very similar siuation with about a dozen Birch trees in my yard. Eventually had to remove all of them. The sapsucker's weren't happy about that but it cured the problem. Never did learn if it was a disease or not, but once the Sapsuckers start on them, disease is probably not far behind.

Thanks for the info, did you end up burning them or taking them away somewhere? I'm in Parkland county as well.
