I'm trying to get away from it!!!!! That incessant humming coming through my wall from the adjacent office, drives me insane!!!! Pretty cool stuff though.

I will follow up tomorrow. I have no idea. I just get to hear the damn thing buzzing away. I don't run it... But I'd sure like it to go away!

My research is just starting on 3D Printing. Don't know if i'll make it pay for itself, but it seems like a heck of a project to tinker with.

I've kind of been shopping in the $2500 range - but I am tempted to pick up something much cheaper, just to play with and see if I have that level of interest.

Good thread... i'll be watching and PM'ing if I have any questions

Find a flashforge creator pro or dual. They are just amazing little machines, new for about $1000 and used $500 or less. Dual head will print abs or pla without any changes to setup.

I bought an Ender 3 a couple weeks ago, never put it together until Saturday. Was sick Saturday so why not tinker in the basement. I'll post some pics of things I made in a second.

I definitely need to learn how to use some of these CAD programs, or at least find one for dummies cause it seems pretty complicated.

For example I'd like to print these 1911 grips with checkering

Phone case just cause

Carbon fiber doggo test

308 dummy round

Thanks!

Took 4 tries for the 308 lol 40 min a pop, damn thing just tipped over and got all stringy the first 3 tries.

The grips were super easy of course to print and that dog was too. I'm gonna try the benchy boat tonight hopefully.

I bought some hunter orange filament to make single shot adaptors and mag loaders already got a buddy wanting me to make stuff for him.

So tempted to get into this because I know multiple things I could use a 3D printer for. Unfortunately I am horrible with computers so I would be completely lost trying to figure it out

If you can find what you want on thingiverse then its just a matter of downloading the files and plugging them into your printer on an sd card and selecting the heat temps.

If you gotta use a cad program then yeah I agree I'm struggling with that part.

I use 123d design, and it has worked for most everything I want.

A real easy and free program to learn for 3D design is google Sketchup.

YouTube simple how to videos and youl’ll Be doing complex 3D designs in no time.

Also... I got a classroom full of kids that would LOVE to do custom projects for people.

If you got a tool or a part that needs to be built... we can do it!
No charge unless you want the thing printed in some kind of ceramic or metal... or precious metal.

We’ve done a few projects for people.. and they’ve been good.
