Default First fly rod

I'm thinking about getting a fly rod and giving it a shot. Does anyone have recommendations for combos that aren't too pricey and still decent?

I hadn't held a fly rod for 20 years until this season. Bought A TFO Lefty Kreh #5 weight. Price was right and I'm happy with it.

Tfo is great, I have a few of them. Try looking at an orvis Clearwater combo on eBay, seen some for a good price as well. But you cant beat the tfo warranty!!! Good luck!! You will have a lot of fun!

Check the buy/sell postings here. There are always some good deals to be had. They might not be right in your area. But if you pay the shipping most people are willing to package it up and send it off to you.

Go to Cabellas website. http://reviews.cabelas.com/8815/3212...ws/reviews.htm They let anyone post a review on the products that they sell. So you get a wide range of people commenting on what they think of what ever it is they bought at Cabellas. Check out the comments that people are writing about that Prestige combo. Sounds like some love it and others hate it. So it puts you in the position of actually going to Cabellas and giving the rod a shake yourself. See if you like it and make up your own mind from there.
