Apperently those emails (and this thread as well) were more than a little deceiving with a particular agenda in mind .
I have been told there is not an all out ban and details were purposely left out to raise dissension amongst the members .
For the record I am not a member there and have no dog in this fight but I can certainly see what is going on having been a member of many different organizations and shooting clubs my whole life .
All I am going to add is that members should go to the AGM and voice their opinions and vote with a clear logical mindset

I don't have a dog in the fight either cat but I don't understand what good could come out of trying to raise dissension amongst the members? Am I not understanding something?

Cat - you need to read the first post in this thread closely. Quoted above for your convenience. The exceptions are clearly laid out. IPSIC is NOT excepted and the only two accidental discharges from a holster in the whole history of this range were by uniformed police, who are excepted.

I do not believe there was any "AGENDA' being promoted here, but it has raised a lot of questions. There was no study, request by the CFO or any other solid reason for the ban coming into place. It came up at the last Exec meeting, no pre-amble or info tabled, got voted on and passed.

Many of us who are members will be at this AGM, like we have been at others. This is just one of the issues of interest.

i got an email back that said like most ranges they allow holsters when RSO's are present. right now the only time rso's are present is then the cowboy larpers or the cops are out. there are no ipsic events so they were not mentioned as being exempted because there are no events

they did mention that holsters are the prefered method for black powder shooters who are walking the black powder trail hence no rso needed.

Like I said I have no dog in this fight but that email was not complete from what I was told and as far as I am concerned any club should keep their executive and membership issues and affairs to themselves not during it on s public forum unless it had to do with announcing a shoot where the public is welcome

Well using my pistol from the holster may be banned now. But wearing the holster is not.

I will put my id card on it and put a bag of Reeses Pieces in it.
