Default Muzzle-loader question.

I've heard some powder hunters put a piece of tape on the end of their barrels to keep the powder dry (and that even on a high power rifles ballistics aren't effected). Good/ safe practise for keeping your barrel free of debris?

Do it all the time on both muzzleloader and high power. Shot through the tape many times with no ill effects.
