I'm gonna go with 135 to 140.

But I'm not real comfortable with that.

Something about these photos suggest to me that he may be a fair bit bigger.
I just can't put my finger on it, so I'm going with my first guess.

At least I'm sure he's not over 155, and not under 130.

The body size! That's it! , , , , weight?

210 lb and a 130 rack. Not sure what to say.

Holy man,,, not enough we have to guess horn size now we are asked to guess body weight... This is getting way to technical for this old boy..

I'll take a crack and say shoot it.. If it's not big enough for you then you haven't hunted long enough and went enough days with nothing...

Hows that ???

First of all why are we hunting together? That would be like Castro and Obama baking cookies together.

Secondly, by the time your eyes focused through those coke bottles you call glasses to recognize he was a shooter buck, I would have let a bullet sail right through his boiler.

As for the beard, well that just a safety precaution. I am little unsure how good my elk guide will be this winter. If he leads us astray and I have to spend a cold January night in the bush because him, I wanna make sure that my pretty face doesn't get cold.

Gross is for guys that consistantly try to make things look bigger !!

I'm mean you don't step on the scale with all your clothes, and work boots on to weigh yourself do you??

no, gross is what the deer grew and what you see in the field. some numbnuts at B&C decided that the only good antlers are symetrical antlers which to me is a load of crap. there are some deer, elk etc that net out of the book that are much more impressive than some that do. ever see the little 171 gross 170 net whitetail that just squeaks in, yet a giant 195 gross with a drop tine and a few stickers that nets 168 gets tossed to the curb. put those 2 bucks side by side with 1 tag in your pocket and i guarantee you which one 99% of hunters would shoot.

as for the op....138 gross. weight...i dunno.

Thx Isb, i think I know what gross means. What you quoted was more a joke than anything.

Out of anyone I know what a stuiped drop tine can do a rack !!!! Trust me !!!!

But still Different strokes for different folks, some guys just don't like non typ's, I might just be that 1 %.

So when you score a buck which system are you using?? ( buckmasters, P&Y / B&C, SCI, ) Majority of hunter use the B&C method which uses a NET total as it's final number.

Plus some guys enjoy trying to make the book and value both opinions. Passing up a 150 gross / 120 net whitetail, might have to happen if someone is looking to get a buck in say P&Y or one of their species for their ABA awards. It's good to see net and gross scores, unless someone specifically asks for one over the other !

as an official measurer, i follow their rules and net scores are what it takes to get into record books. what i said is also one of the the reasons i have no interest in being listed in any of them. there are other reasons....
for guys who want to see their name in a record book, i have no issues if thats what drives you. for me, wall appeal matters more. when an animal takes my breath away and im choking on my tongue trying to talk.....thats what pumps me up and his net score means nothing at that moment.
one of the saddest things i ever know of a hunter doing was to break off a droptine on a deer he killed to get his name listed in the mighty book.
