Default Bow River Fly Fishing

I just got into fly fishing and wanted to try it out on the bow river. I have seen so many awesome pictures of nice bows and browns and sometimes whitefish. All the flies I have right now are the Elk Hair Caddis, Two different sized Parachute Adams' Flies, Stonefly Nymph, and Pheasant Tail Nymph.

My Question is that I just don't know a good location on the bow to try? I have heard people having luck by the Southland Dog Park and by the Calf Robe Bridge and lots of other places. Where do you guys recommend for a decent night's fly fishing?

Thanks,
Kyle

Plenty of good spots to start you off if you check out this thread HERE.

Also, some of the fly fishing shops around Calgary sell a small bow river mapbook with many of the spots from that thread shown on a river map.

The Bow is great fishing anywhere South of the water treatment plant. It can be frustrating at times but like any river, get out and put some time in on it. Certain areas, like the Southland dog park and the 22X bridge get pretty busy but they can be great areas to park. If you're willing to walk 15 minutes, you can easily get into water that doesn't get hit as bad. As well, talk to the local fly shops....they helped me a ton when I first got going and I found that most other fishermen along the river were more than willing to pass on knowledge along the way.
Best of luck
