Default Cooper Model 22 in a Boyds Pro Varmint by gitrdun

Shout out to gitrdun (Yvan)

I have a Cooper Model 22 Phoenix in 6BR. I like the gun and I like shooting 6 BR. I did not find the stock all that comfortable to shoot off the bench. Mainly the had position just didn’t feel right to me. I looked around so some stock options and didn’t find any.

I contacted gitrdun (Yvan) to see what he could do for me. He suggested inletting a Boyds stock on his stock duplicator (or replicator?). We went with a Boyd Pro Varmint pepper laminate. The stock came un inlet and un finished. Just looked like a chuck of wood to me. 
Gitrdun inlet, pillared and bedded the stock as well as did the finishing work. I think it looks great! It’s really shiny.

The gun before

After

Shot 3 – 5 shot groups last night 0.6 – 0.8 MOA. If I could pull in a couple of those shots I would be happy. But like gitrdun says …. he has no control over the nut behind the bolt.

I found the gun a lot more comfortable to shoot and I am really happy with the way it turned out!

Thank you Yvan!
