Default 45-120 sharps

I recently purchased a pedersoli sharps replica complete with dies and brass.Its a 45-120 and appreciate any info regarding smokeless powder,what is best,grains of powder etc.,thanks

I run smokeless in mine.

390 gr bullet from the bullet barn with gas check / brass cap on base.

42.4 gr of aa 4140 or something. Can't remember off top of my head now. I'm not at home. Could get back to you. Think I made the bullets long too. Like touching the lands.

Very accurate. Only at 50 yards but put 3 shots in the same hole. Done.

35 grains of 4759 and a 500 grain cast worked well in my Sharps replica but not nearly as well as black powder .
