Ithaca Mod 37 Serial # ?

I've got an older Ithaca Mod 37 12 ga, likely from the '60's and can't find a serial number on it. Where to look?

Just had a look at my 37 and it looks like there is a serial number on the right side of the barrel close to the receiver. Don't know if mine is that old though might be a little different.

It's at the front of the receiver near the intersection of the barrel and receiver
