Default Kananaskis

Was up Galatea trail on Tuesday to go to Lillian lake. Between the 5 of us we caught 26 brookies spincasting and I was fly fishing and had a lot of success using my own caddis nymph pattern and green drake pattern. Also went to rawson and got 3 big rainbow spincasting. Also went up to elbow and just about got skunked except for one small cutty. Just thought I'd put this on here cause I haven't seen many people talking about kananaskis

How's the hike to Lillian ... I saw that the campsite is closed. Assuming you didn't take a float tube?

Hmmm

You may want to brush up on your fish identification... Lillian and Rawson have only been stocked with Cutthroat Trout (Rawson having self reproducing population) and Elbow only has Brookies!

It's a good hike, the last km is a little rough and straight up hill but we had a 6 year old with us and he did it. There were a few tents on the campsite, I didn't bring my tube up, but definitely would the next time I go up. Buy you don't need to, the shore fishing is pretty good

Agree.

Though I think Elbow lake has mostly brookies and a small population of cutties. The upper Elbow certainly has both.
