Perhaps good manners should be added to the list?

If you have to tell someone that they need to use good manners then it's already too late.

For those people shooting semi autos, a brass catcher or a screen to prevent your brass from striking other shooters, I find it ironic at just how paranoid people can get when you toss their brass back as they are just going to shoot, yet they don't give a second thought to bouncing brass off of other shooters.

And here I thought that endlessly talking on the phone and taking selfies was girly stuff. I guess that I was wrong. But then again it could be a girly man attribute as well.

If your shooting at the Lloyd range don't forget a pad to sit on, the new steel benches get cold real fast.

So if was instructing another shooter (louder voice obviously, due to the hearing protection) I'd be asked to keep it down or leave? Not a chance.

I think Cat's point was during a competition if you were talking loud enough to someone that the competitors could hear you through their ear protection you would be asked to leave. If there was a competition on the line I would not think there would also be a newby being instructed.

Don't be such a putz you know full well that instructing another shooter you do not have to raise your voice if you are close ad t is not the same as yelling at someone 1 feet away o screaming on a phone.
You need to go argue somewhere else.

While keys and mags seem simple, I'm sure everyone can tell you a story of themselves or other people on the range showing up without them and the look of shame they display afterwards...
I left my keys at home one time hunting cost my and extra 3 hours driving and a bunch of fuel. Now i use combo locks exclusively.

That's why everyone should know how to search YouTube on how to get into those trigger locks with a small screwdriver or pocket knife.

Heck I did that for a guy in the goose blind in the pre Internet days, using a pocket knife and some ingenuity.

I have seen many people in that situation. A quick reference to the you tube video online, and a small knife, and the trigger lock is off in a minute or so. But since they aren't a legal requirement on non restricted firearms. I don't use trigger locks on non restricted firearms.

Default things for the range

If you are over 40 i recomend advil or tylenol. We older guys have various aches and pains which are often aggrivated by various shooting positions. If your in less pain you shoot better.

Just saying (take it for what it is)

Doesn't every 40 or 50+ shooter have a stash of this stuff in their truck to begin with? I know I sure do.......

^^ I do but more for hunting, especially if hauling an animal out of the bush.

BTW I've switched entirely to combo locks a long time ago.

I gave mine away, as well as a dozen or so of the cable padlock combinations.

Just don't bring any metal targets to the range. and don't move any existing metal targets.

And when you spray the gong(s), remember to turn your can of spray paint upside down and let loose to clean nozzle or next time at the range it won't work

No human silhouette targets at SPFGA except by LE Groups with written agreements.

Everyone covered this well but what about what NOT to take home from the range
Engaging in our sport brings it's complications, make sure no one tails you home from the range, it's getting even sketchier out there

Sorry I meant metallic silhouettes. It might be interesting to check out their competitions and maybe even try my hand at it.

I think that's being a tad paranoid .
In that way if thinking you had better watch out for someone tailing you home com the gun shop, jewellery store , etc........

At SPFGA, the only metal members can shoot are the gongs installed by the Club (except on the Rim Fire Range where members can bring their own downward deflecting spinners to place inside the shroud boxes at 50/100M). The Big Bore has 8" gongs installed in shrouds at 100/200/300M, the Overflow at 100/150/200M. In the Rim Fire, club gongs are installed at 50/100M. Some 3" - 5" gongs are hung in the Handgun Range at 26M.
SPFGA has not hosted "competition" events although there are usually several organized "fun shoots" during the year. The Club has stayed away from organized competition events which could result in the closure of a Range on weekends.

As satisfying as it would be, leave the pictures of our premier and our prime minister at home, or shoot them elsewhere.
