Arrow Rests
Hello everyone,
Just wondering what everyones favorite arrow rests are. I am currently using a apache drop away, which i switched to after having touble with the ripcord. I shot whisker biscuits for years, but was blown away with the performance of the drop away style. My first one a Fourty dollar alpine rest, that i keep as a back up. Anybody have any thoughts on rests?

Ripcord Code Red, gets my vote, but QAD, is probably most popular.

i had issues with my ripcord. Looking back it was most likely my error when i installed it. Do you know where i could find a replacement arrow holder for a ripcord?(retail)

I had an NAP Apache drop away on my old bow, and liked it. It picked up a new bow last year and put a QAD Ultra HDX on it. I like it way better than the Apache. Better containment, quieter, and lighter.

QAD seems to be a hit will alot of people. Maybe that will be my next one to try.

the Trophy Ridge drop-zone is a great, simple drop away rest as well as the trophy taker rests. A lot less parts to fail than some rests like the QAD's

I prefer the cable/limb activated rests like the trophy taker smackdown and Vapor trail Limbdriver Pro-v. Get a little longer arrow guidance while maintaining and guaranteeing fletching clearance. Right now I'd give the edge to my pro-v as it is a little more compact and was the one rest that fit and worked good on my PSE Vendetta

I like the QAD ultra rest hdx, or the apa twister cdx, the twister is cable driven kind of like the limbdriver and is full containment

I just picked up a "new" bow and it came with the Limb Driver Pro V. so far I really like it. It is simple and easy to tune.

 dont overlook the Ugly Cookie [Whisker Biscuit] it is the most accurate under rated rest out there for hunting...I have tried most popular out there and always come back to the ugly cookie...used it in the artic circle..used in minus 68C..lol ...heat over 40C..rain snow etc...never fail also..and super accurate in the right hands..
the new ones are amazing and lightest out there ..full contaiment and no moving springs or cords

it is true for certain that the WB is pretty fool proof, but I have had a few people complain that if the arrow gets pushed into the bristles and they don't notice it, then bad shots happen, but that isn't the fault of the rest, just the shooter sometimes needs to pay more attention

It happens...mostly due to bumping or fingering arrow on draw... something we dont want to see with any rest....same thing can happen on drop away or most other rests...
if it does drop to the side easily that is usually a sign of a un tuned bow that is kicking arrow left or right..etc...I shoot a lot and replace the biscuit or cookie itself once or twice a year...they are inexpensive at under $20.00 and should be changed every year if shot lots...just before hunting season when tuning the bow prior is best time....

Both mine and my sons bow have these. Apprx $60 ea.
About 20% of the dragg of a Whisker biscuit.
Less drag, less noise, more FPS.

i know lots of guys like the ripcord, but i can't figure out what advantage it has over the QAD. can anyone shed some light on this?
i know it doesn't stay up, but isn't that kind of the idea of full containment, that it holds your arrow in place even when you've let down so its not just hanging there, bouncing around?
i may be wrong, and thats fine, but i just want to know why anyone would choose the ripcord over the QAD.

i'm with LOST ARROW on this one ,I shoot the whisker biscuit and love it , never had an issue and cant really fail !

I have the Athens Omega Rest and havent shot it much ....Actually first time was yeaterday. It works great my only complaint would be the size of the unit, otherwise its pretty slick full containment 360 drop away.
I have had the Whisker biscuit and didnt like it but that was cause it would burn and warp my vanes.......this was back pre blazer vanes so I have been thinking about trying another.
I have also had the QAD and it is still on my backup bow and the sizzor rest on my most recent, all have worked great for me although the sizzor was a little loud.

I asked the same sort of question a couple months ago. A lot of guys recommended the QAD Ultra HDX. I bought one from Jimbows and have not been disappointed.
