Default building vice

after seeing the norvice at the fly show but not having the 300 bucks i decided to build one so igot the idea of adding motor so starte building
anyone else ever build one

pics coming in next few hours i hope

i started one after seeing the price of the norvice have all together except for the clamp just have to decide what desine is the best so many options

Well I'm gonna take the front part and cut it down the middle.
Once that's dun all I will have to do is bring the bolt forward to tighten it.
But that's the theory I'll probably tweak it once I start using it but it should work the nice thing about the motor I put on is thatits been borowed from an old sewing machine so I have a peddle to control it. You should post pics of yours once your done

nice like that idea. working on a clamp and a few other featers but when i get it all together ill post some pics

Do u have a machine shop or something cause that looks a little to high end to do with hand tools

All the round parts were bar stock. Used a lathe to do the body. And a few small peaces but all holes and cuts were hand cut and filled. At some point I asked my self why I chose stainless but it paid off. With a nice hard. Jaws. Definetly not the norvice standerd. But simaler feel to the peek vice can't wait to sit down this weekend and tie some fly's

so i gave the last vice to my father and he loved it tied some nice icecream cones on it . loved it so much i made one for my self think this one turned out pretty nice
