I'd also be interested in opinions, particularly on portable models (Deeper, Fish Hunter, iBobber) for easy use on a float tube. There seems to be a few articles online, but they seem somewhat dated (2014'ish) and not taking into consideration the newer models.

Default Humminbird or Lowrance

Look at some of the smaller Humminbird Helix or Lowrance Hook units. You can strap them on to a float tube and gets you into something you can at least see in the sun. The biggest downside to these bobber units is they go to your phone. Try looking at your phone when out in bright sun and see how it looks.

Just bought the hummingbird helix 5 sonar, going to be using it on a one man pontoon boat, just need to customise some brackets to strap it to my pontoon, also bought a clamp with a rod attached from the fishin hole to attach the transducer to, saw some fittings on youtube also, some float tube website

I bought the Fish Hunter Pro off Amazon and so far I really enjoy using it. No troubles seeing it on the phone even in the Sun. Long battery life. Only trouble is your phone battery doesn't last long LOL
