Default Need some reloading advice please

I'm reloading some 130grn hornady Interbonds in .270 WIN. The book says COL Max 3.340 The COL when touching the lands is 3.480 So do I go with the lands and back off 10 thousands or is the COL listed in the book gospel? Hope I explained it correctly. And will the difference affect accuracy?

I ignore the COL listed in the manuals, because they are meaningless with any rifle other than the one that the load was developed in. If the load will fit the magazine and will cycle at .010" off of the lands, and if there is enough bullet shank in the case, I would start there.

othing c be taken for gospel
The COL is a SAAMI spec , as would be maximum pressure for a given cartridge, and the chamber specs for that cartridge.
Somewhere in the middle you will find the right combination for your rifle, doesn't mean it will be better r worse for the next one.
Start with a mid range load for the COL, then adjust the powder once you get the most accurate COL .
Some get the max powder that is st accurate then adjust the COL after.

I would go 10-20 thousands off the lands as long as the length will still fit in your magazine and not bind.

Seat for the distance from your lands.
The book is simply stating where the cannelure sits.

If you have an entirely different issue, you are better off starting a thread on that topic.

Is everything tight and are you giving it uniform pressure when you trim?
Also are you using the same brand if brass ?
