Default What flies for pike, dressed heavey or sparce?

I am looking forward to open water.
Another pike fly, wondering if pike like less fluff....sometimes other fish hit a lightly dressed fly?

Pike react to flies based on conditions . One day they will chase and crush every thing you throw their way. Next day your fly may get some attention if it looks very close to the food source. Start simple 1or 2 colors. This helps key in on what they are chasing. Following black and white, they may smash black and yellow. Small steps make great leaps..

If I am targeting pike I use wire or 50lb florocarbon tied onto an old tapered leader butt 3'-4' with 2'-3' of the above tied on as a tippet. Some use a snap on the end to aid in quick change over of offerings. I prefer improved cinch as I check for abrasion often.
