Default Creek Access

New to the area & looking forward to exploring the Dogpound, Little Red Deer, Raven & other foothill creeks. Having come from creeks almost exclusively on crown land, I'm looking for advice on do's & dont's & etiquette around accessing creeks on farm properties. Given that one should always be respectful of being on someone's land, is access to most creeks permitted?
Would appreciate any pointers.

Always best to go and talk to the landowner. Access often depends on past angler history/problems. Pretty hard to stay below "high water mark" on small creeks.
