Default Looking for a new used border collie

Seems to be getting harder and harder to get a good used dog. Newspapers don't have online classifieds. The pet shelters want more than for a pup, and too many of them don't have pictures, or want to you fill out a 19 page questionnaire to adopt a dog. Anyway:

Looking for a female border collie. One that isn't a good working dog is ok. I like their looks, their smarts, and their activity. Preferably between a year and two years old. Flexible on that. Don't want a really fine hair one. Too hard to keep clean. Dog is going to be outside a lot in winter (with me on the farm), so don't want one that is really short haired. (Some aussie collies must freeze in winter) Prefer a tricolor, flexible on that too.

Yeah, this is a big list. But I'm open.

Last dog I got was from Calgary pound. BC x something bigger. That's him on the right. Ceilidh is our other dog. She's 11 now, Radar is 6.

Keep looking and you’ll find one. Lots of stock dogs around that don’t quite make it and people are looking to re-home them. Could put a want ad on the Alberta Stock Dog page.

Hundreds if not thousands of dogs on Kijiji
It's been a while since I was on kijiji for dogs.

Edmonton has 222 ads for dogs:

First page: All but 3 are for pups. 3 older dogs, one is 800 2 yr german shepherd the other two are trouble.
Second page. Harlequin great dane,. 9 month siberian husky for 900 bucks. Rest puppies.
Third page. German shepherd, rest puppies.
Fourth page. 1 set of rescue dogs, all shorthair, rest puppies.

Cut to the chase. Let's look for 'border collie' on ALL of Alberta kijiji.

A search for 'border collie' gets 65 ads.

One looks more like a shepherd lab mix. They want 600 bucks for a year old.

1 BCxBlue Healer (BH) 1.5 yr. Possible. Heelers have a rep for nipping, and as we have customers with kids, I need a non-nipper.

3 yr old for a thousand bucks in lethbridge.

In saskatchewan, 19 ads. there is a dog that they claim is Border collie, but he looks a lot heavier. Lab cross bernese mountain dog?

In BC:
Kamloops 2 yr old unspayed border collie. Cattle dog drop out. $500. Possible. That's a 7 hour drive.

I’m working in the Shaunavon, SK area right now and was just surfing the local Kijiji ads and seen Border Collie pups on there. Just thought I would give you a heads up not sure if it’s what you are looking for or not.
