Italian Shotgun...looking for info
Here's another one from the collection I inhierited.
It's a 12 ga. side by side with some nice detail work.
Left barrel says GIUESPPE GITTI . GARDONE V.T.
Right barrel says ACCIAIO BREDA CROMATO
From what I've been able to gather it was made in the Gardone Valley in Italy, where they have been making arms since Roman times. Anybody ever seen one like this?

The shotgun was indeed made by Gtti, but the barrels by the sounds of it were made by Breda, which is not unusual.
I have personnaly shot one gun that is a very fine piece with two different dates on it and proofs from different years, with the stocks made by Rizzini, the barrls by Krupp, and the action by Galisi .
Gitti was a small shop, and as far as I know not buildng anymore.

Lots of good knowledge on shotgun world , but it's the same as any other forum one has to sort out the good stuff from the crap!
There are a PILE of members there who have opinions that are formed from nothing but snob experience and comment on stuff quite often without actually having any hands on experience - not that I am the " end all and be all" when it comes to guns , mind you!

LoL....Any hands on experience with the F.A.I.R SxS Iside prestige shotguns?
I see they go for about $2600.....would you equaly compare the 28 gauge Iside to the Fausti DEA 28 gauge that cost around $4000?

Handled one, but haven't shot it yet.
If I wasn't aware of a particular 20 gauge SXS hammer double in the Works for mid 2014 however, I would be buying the FAIR SXS!
