Default Jigging From A Boat?

How do you jig from a boat for pike? Do you cast out and slowly retreive, cast out and leave it .etc? Thanks

If theres a breeze I let the boat drift and I jig about 20' behind the boat. If theres no wind I troll.

If I'm jigging for walleye I anchor then vertically jig just off bottom
