Default *Edmonton help from Chris (357mag) thank you!!

Got a trombone back from bluing in BC and won't cycle so took it apart last night and "V" shaped spring under receiver is broken. Now Western gun Parts is the best source for old Browning parts but they say they have a $25 minimum order but think it could be what is called "slide lock spring". Any one close enough to go and look at this part to see if it is 2 inches long, V shaped with a coil at the bottom of the V. If so I would like it picked up and put in mail to me and I wil reimburse cost of spring and postage? thanks

To be sure if anyone lives close enough to WGP I can snap a picture of the broken spring (or a good one) to make sure they are confident it is the right part before they commit to buying it.

Rob

Post a pic, and the part# they gave you. Western is 5 blocks from my shop. I can check it on Tuesday. Also how much is the part?

I don't have a price or part number from WGP and suspect they didn't go into details as Irv may have replied after normal business hours last night stating only that they had a minimum order and would reopen for business Tuesday after the long weekend. Brownells lists a part with a similar description as $5.95 but of course won't ship gun parts to Canada.

Here is apicture of the fully functional one on the 1922 trombone::

and the broken one on the rifle I got back from bluing in BC. (not supposed to be blued so maybe the heat or bluing formula made the spring brittle so it broke on reassembly).

thanks

Default Any help appreciated

just bought a well used Browning Trombone, sadly during shipping the forestock broke in 2 pieces (eeergh). The buttstock is pretty bad, so i'm looking for a FULL set of wood for this Trombone.
If anyone knows of some available, please let me know as this one is worth saving.

ps i realize this is an old thread but i figured it was a good place to start.

thanks in advance.
