A friend of mine is looking to buy one of these in 308W. Just wondering those of you who own one, how your experience has been. I need input in the following categories:

Overall feel
Accuracy using match ammo
Groups with hand loads
Vewlocities for 168 match bullets

Appreciate your 0.2 cents.

I own one in .223, so I cant speak to the performance of match ammo and velocity of one in .308. I love the feel of mine. The Hogue stock is great. The weight of the rifle makes it settle in the sandbags and stay there. As for accuracy, I have no complaints there either. The rifle will shoot very tight groups.

Edited for spelling errors.

Ive got a remington LTR in 308 I know its not the sps but it does have a 20" barrel. I Thought i could throw some accuracy data and velocities your way instead of commenting on the stock

The only .308 match ammo I shot was one box of federal 168 gold medal.
for 5 three shot groups at 100 yards they avg 0.804" best grp was .611 but i don't have any velocity's for the factory stuff.

Crap just looking at all my data I didnt record any velocities for the 168's sorry bout that

As far as accuracy my gun is a tack driver! using powders like varget,h380 or RL-15 groups are usually .38"-.50" depending on the load ,I use only federal 210match primers. My gun shoots best with the 175gr matchkings but they are very slow around 2200-2460fps Im guessing you would be looking at 2500-2600fps out of the 20" barrel with 168's? My 20" barrel .243 has averaged about 250fps slower than loads listed with a 24" tube.
