Winchester White Box is crap. You're better off buying Federal Champion 525 bulk packs.

hi rusty,
your 22 will tell you which ones are best, buy 1 box of every one in the price range your comfortable with, fill the clip, sandbags and poke paper..in 10 or 20 shots at 50 or 75 yards (or your proposed distance) youll see a leader jump out clearly in front of the rest.
not sure what your shooting game or paper but if your shooting a autoloader observe for stovepipes, ease of ejection, pickup issues or dead rounds.
some higher end guns/bbls may have a custom target style chamber, that doesnot accept every bullet configaration.
my 10/22 seemed to devour the blue boxed fedaral plated hi-power hollow points like no other..so thats what i bought 10 bricks of.
for the extra money the yellow jackets and other higher performance bullets didnt nescarily perform on paper better than its cheaper cousins..however the terminal performance was not compareable.
until the 17hmr comes out

Default choices

Like some one else said try a few different brands in your gun at 50 yards, the ones that group the best are the ones you should buy. I was in the same boat as you a few years ago and most of my 22's are CZ's and it just happens that most CZ's shoot well with Federal American Eagle 38g hollow point. So I bought a few cases of it a number of years ago.
Winchester PowerPoint is good all around ammo that shoots well in many rifles but costs a few more bucks per brick. Cabelas has 22 ammo cheap most of the time. FS

These work best in my 10/22's:

CCI Mini Mag's (either JHP or CPRN) - awesome rounds, very reliable, but expensive comparatively

Blazer 40gr RN's - bulk pack is only $25 at P&D

Federal Champion 40gr Solid RN - Think a bulk pack is about $28ish?
