Default Hunting questions for 2015

Looking to get back into hunting next year if I can find a partner or partners

But I'll need to renew a few things and catch up some stuff (hence 2015 in the title)

Back ground on my hunting, I hunted upland birds with my father in the early 90's and then took up big game hunting in 04-05 for a couple of years

I applied for my POL during the big push in 99? (when they had kiosks in the mall etc) well I never did receive it ( I guess I forgot to sign my cheq when I mailed it in) and we moved about 8 months later so my change of address was no longer in effect. I did get my POL in 04, and then proceeded to take my Fire arm safety test in and get a PAL as well. Ended up moving to High River and never hunted again, well I noticed my PAL is expired ( 09 I think) so now I would like to start the process of getting everything up to date for next year.

1. PAL I believe I can go and renew it even through its expired ? ( seems to be what I've read, for $60)

2. Hunters Education I took this course a couple of times in the 90's when we part of (some association out of NE Calgary by the hearld building) do I need to renew this? or am I on file some where?

I think that's all I need for next year, other then figuring out how this new draw system works. And finding a partner/partners that don't mind a semi rookie coming along and relearning the ropes I do miss it,

Thanks Winky

Your PAL can be reissued, but you will need to reapply rather than renew. Make sure you get the right paperwork, here

If you held licenses as recently as 04, you should still be in the system. Apply for a WIN renewal and make sure you check the right boxes on the form. You should be good to go.
