Does anyone know a way to get rid of the yellowish green musk stain on weasel skins?
I brain tanned a bunch of them trying to get more than a dollar for them.
They turned out awesome except when I wash them I can't seem to rid of the yellow stain on the back ends.
Not much a guy can do except maybe a very small amount of bleach and keep washing the heck out of it. Sometimes that stain gets right into the follicles and it's almost impossible to get out. Dall sheep and goat hides get bleached at tanneries or taxidermists to knock blood stains out and that nasty yellow stain billies get on their arse.
Used hydrogen peroxide and baking soda on my skunks, took the greenish tinge out of the white from the spray and eliminated the smell, maybe something to try?
Thanks guys, I tried peroxide already but I will try it with baking soda a hopefully that works.
Can't keep them out of my Martin boxes might as well try to make some money on them
