Default Scope Dimensions

Here is the posted Dimensions for a Leupold 4.5x14x40 VX3I. Would anyone have these same measurements for a Swaro Z3 3x10x44 and/or 3x12x50. Most interest in the B, distance from objective shoulder to power ring, and F, Objective length, dimensions to gauge fit on a rifle.

Perfect, just what I was looking for. Thanks for doing that for me. Unfortunately the 5.5" measurement means it would just barely fit between the rings, which measure 5.45. Would likely have to put on extension rings/bases to get the scope far enough back for proper eye relief. I think I will go down to P&D and test fit one. I know the Leupold fits just about exactly perfect with regular low rings and bases. The extra 1/2" on the B measurement makes a lot of difference.

What action are you planning on mounting the scope on Dean?

I've been looking at the same 2 scopes the past couple couple weekends but without any dimension issues. Do you find the optics clarity in the field better in the Z3 over the VX3?
I've been preferring a duplex reticle for most of my hunting but thought the BRH reticle I'm the Z3 looked quite clean

I like the Boone and Crocket or BRH RETICLE. Nothing wrong with a duplex, I have a few of those too. I like the aim points for longer range shooting. Not a fan of twisting dials. I have Leupold, Swaro and Zeiss on my hunting rifles. The Leupold vx3hd is really great glass. The swaro is a tad clearer to me but it is really hard to tell them apart, even side by side. The one place the Leupold wins hands down is it is a much tougher scope. Heavier built tube, strong erector etc. It will take abuse a swaro won't. My big boomer, dangerous game guns all have Leupold.

Thank you for the input and feedback on that Dean2, I have both Leupold and Zeiss scopes on my hunting rifles and both are great glass. I just haven't been able to warm up to the reticle on a Zeiss scope I have on a newer rifle. I will take a look at both the B&C and Duplex reticle in the VX3HD.

Let us know how you make out at P&D, I'll be going to the same place for mine as well

They didn't have any more Leupold 4.5x14 Boone and Crockett when I was in there last week but a couple of days ago I was looking for something else and I did find a nice new one in my stash that I forgot I had so good to go. Looks great on the Sako.

That's awesome, worked out quite well then. Right in time for the season ahead.

Just in case someone else is looking for the measurements, I am going to post these here. Pretty sure I had these posted in another thread, or two, along with Zeiss, Leica, and, possibly, a few others.

I’ll try to post a few others later when I have more time (and if I don’t forget, lol) since the name of the thread is fitting and easy to find.

P. S. Dean, are you sure it is 44 for the objective though? Pretty sure there is only 42 for Z3 scopes (in the 40’s, anyway).
