My guess is Prussian carp although there has been the odd rainbow that has made it’s way there.

theres a small local lake near me that has huge damselfly hatches, I was fishing 1 day and there were pike launching themselves into the air over and over to grab the damsels. Thought I was in girlyfish territory for a while!

Saw that at one of the trout ponds in the Cypress Hills on the first. Damsels where mating and laying eggs in the water by the thousands. I was amazed at the large trout I saw rising. Every time the wind quit and the lake went calm it would start to boil with fish. I have fished trout in lakes for a lot of years, it was the first time I had seen that much activity.

If its open for fishing toss out a size 10 hook with a small piece of worm 3 feet or so under a small bobber and you will find out

Sounds like the fish version of wildebeest crossing the Mara River trying not to get eaten by crocs! Lol

Sometime fish will jump out of the water to slap themselves on the surface to try to rid themselves of lice.
