Default Dog's First Bird

I was just reading the "So Proud" thread and I thought it would be nice for some other folks to show their dog's first bird. This is my Springer Sampson's first pheasant in 2009. he is 8 now and we are doing our pre-season drills every couple of days to get ready for next month. We can barely wait.

Al the best,

Paul

Looks awesome! I have a 9mo old lab that flushed her first ruffie the other day. I can't wait to drop something for her and watch the light bulb turn on.

What are you doing for drills?

good luck this year!

Great idea for a thread My Brittany is only 8 weeks so she's won't be making the "first Bird" thread till next year.

It would be nice if there was a section for hunting dogs on the forum.

Hey Twobucks

It is pretty exciting when they flush the first one and the second and third etc. etc. I will be getting my first Lab in January/February 2016.

At this point in his career Sampson does all the basics pretty well so most of the drills we are doing now are just to get in shape and to shake off some of the cobwebs from the long break between seasons. After a few days refreshing the basics we usually move on to do some blind retrieves, double retrieves, water retrieves, etc.

Have a great day

Paul
