Default last two weeks of sept

looking to take the wife and the kingfisher out fishing/camping at the end of Sept. I was leaning towards BC but with all the fires it may not happen - still leaning that way all the same. The question is where can I take a camper and boat and have a great experience catching lots of big rainbows/trout. Big fighting rainbows are great fun but I am open to other suggestions as well. Two weeks is a long time so distance is not a big deal (10-12 hr drive max). I am equipped for ocean fishing but I still have lots of meat from last year so I think I'll pass for 2017. In my past experiences I have found remote lakes tend to have great action and lots of good scenery. What recommendations can you share?

Thanks

Tomcat ... Check out Highway 24 (the fishing highway) which runs 100km
from Little Fort to 100 mile house. Tons of lakes, camping, resorts. Best known
would be Lac Des Roche, Bridge & Sheridan lakes. I could spend more than 2 weeks exploring this area. Also the area has been immune to the fires.

Agreed...great area. Kamloops F&W told me that the area has like 1600 lakes. If I had 2 weeks it would be in my sights as a destination for sure.....good luck.

X2 on this hwy. My brother drove it from Litle Fort to 100 mile house yesterday for some dog food, and though it's pretty smokey and some of the roads going up into the hills are still closed, the main lakes are still accessable. Beautifull area and great fishing.

Thanks for the info I will definitely research this some more.

Has anyone had any experience fishing clearwater lake in Greys Wells Prov. Park? There seems to be some good reviews on this as well. I am leaning towards one of these areas - can't do both as much as I want to. ;-)

Not sure I'd say it was immune to the fires, yes no actual fire but some crazy smoky days. We spent the last two weeks of jury on bridge (have for 7 years). The fishing is great in Bridge, Deka, Sulphorous, Canim, Lac des Roches (I refuse to say Sheridan, those Bows are just so damn fickle) Lakes etc.

Definitely check before you go and it may depend on your smoke tolerance.

a few webcams to help you decide.
