Default Are bears an issue in the Crowsnest Area?

I am always on the lookout for bear sign in the Crowsnest area. Has anyone had a bear encounter in this area? Your thoughts please.

Yes
I live here.

My wife ran into a grizz while trail running up Gold Creek just yesterday.

There’s a big male black hitting ant hills down from the East Hill rest bridge.

Come fall time, the place is crawling with bears.

They won’t bug you if you are noisy and don’t bug them.

It’s the mountains

Bears live here.

We say two black bears in two nights fishing the Crowsnest last fall. One at the Frank slide area and the second just to the West of the Frank slide. Neither was aggressive but my fishing partner and I both carry bear spray all the time now!

There's no bears in the Pass unless I say so!

I fish the Castle River down there quite a bit, and one night while fishing below the falls, after the sun went down, me and my buddy were walking back to my truck when we came across a mother Cougar with 2 Cubs sitting in front of it. We just went back and fished for another hour in the dark until they left. All I can say is, they're definitely not house cats! Fricken Catzilla!

I have a real hard time believing this, our benevolent leaders have stated publicly there aren't many grizzlies out there.
