Default Grizzly S of GP

A young friend of mine was working a lease site S of GP in Gold Creek area today, turned around and this fellow was 100 feet away. He got to truck before taking pics I think.. Said he was too surprised to poop...

We had 4" stick for a week, not in any hurry for more. My friend just texted me again, bear walked out on road in front of him and back into bush. I told him to go quietly into bush and see if he could sneak up on him for a better picture. I even offered to hold his beer....

Good one TC. That fella is in pretty good shape already for the winter. Glad he didn't put a stock on your friend without him knowing. Kind of gives a guys chills thinking about it.

Do u think every bear thinks about stalking and eating people?
Very ,very unlikely a big healthy boar like that would ever consider stalking and eating a person.
So much paranoia out there.

But what if he just had a mean sense of humor, and enjoyed seeing guys fill their pants?

Good berry crop this year, but they want one last good feed before denning up.

Relapse pocko. I was simply musing. Zero paranoia here yet am quite aware of what is going on. Tell me you wouldn't be somewhat startled to realize that Grizzlyy was this close, while you were unaware?

Default bear

Out to trapping cabin this week, lots of mud. Interesting bear story, one stole heavy roll of industrial/rubber back carpet off the deck of cabin. Found it in bush snagged on log, guess he wanted wall to wall carpet for his den this winter!

Tork, trapper in BC a few years back came to his cabin, bear had broken in added bunch of leaves and grass to trappers bed. He said he was not helping on any chores around cabin or paying rent, so he shot him.

I heard about the one in grand banks, I worked on a custom house there and one of the other trades told me about it. Crazy. Maybe it was coming for wing night at Wing'n It?

Even the bears know their wings suck. Crappy wings in 100 subtly different crappy flavors.

Pocko…..''glad he didn't put a stock on your friend'' is not paranoia?
Getting startled? Absolutely would. I've had a few close encounters and always gets the heart pounding. Don't think I've every been stalked by one.
There's probably hundreds if not thousands of such encounters occurring every year in north America that go without incident
Saying that , getting in between or too close to a sow and her cubs or stumbling onto a kill site could garner different results.
