Exclamation Where'd they all go?

Hi guys, my first post here, long time lurker... as the name states I am new to hunting waterfowl this year and am tackling the task solo.. after some initial early season success after this rough weather we've been having it seems to me a ton of the birds have left? Am I wrong, are they still around or did they all migrate out already? A lot of the posts on this forum that has made waterfowl hunting look so fun is actually a lot of the reason I got into the sport! Thanks everybody!

Sorry bud but your handle could easily mistake a i for a u and change the meaning completely.

I’m sure you’ll get someone useful coming along shortly though, ducks are still around.

Thousands of birds north of Edmonton....unreal numbers and lots of shoots along the pavement between Edmonton and athabasca or Edmonton and westlock.

Plenty of geese in my area, with more snows and ducks moving in.

I doubt that they will leave for a couple of weeks at least.

I'm still hearing a few here, north of Peace River.

I did a hunt east of Camrose earlier this week. There were tons of Geese but not many ducks. I was told by a local avid bird hunter that the ducks don't show up in big numbers there till around the middle of October.

Ducks and geese will normally not leave most parts of Alberta until the lakes and ponds freeze over and snow covers the feed. They are lazy like the rest of us, it is hard work flying south.

I am starting to see some good sized flocks of mallards here now. One field has had between 500 and 1000 feeding for the last few days
