Default Ducks Unlimited vs Delta Waterfowl

Could someone describe the difference between the two, and how their work benefits hunters and waterfowl around here? I've hunted DU sites but I'm sort of in the dark about Delta. Thanks.

Default Delta Waterfowl Station

It is interesting that the Calgary chapter ,called wild wings , of
Delta Waterfowl has an Edmonton phone number .

Originating in the Big Delta marsh south of Lake Manitoba .
I spent my childhood falls at a place called tin town ...squatters
Hunting shacks on the Big Marsh .

I think more canadian based than DU

I hunted tin town once. What an experience. One of my friends fathers had a cabin that he had purchased with several friends. He took both of us there for a weekend. Fantastic experience. Lovely country.

Delta is a good organization. I like to support both.

Yes,,,,,,,,, Ducks tends to have Govt's ear a bit better as it has a higher profile in the public's eye , but Delta does some really good stuff too.

Ducks tends to be more landscape / macro orientated,,, Delta tends to be more micro orientated in it's approach ie, hen houses and predator management,,, that said Delta is starting to push some ALUS projects (Alternative Land Use Services) in three counties in Alberta (Vermillion, Parkland and Red Deer).

You really can't go wrong supporting one or the other or both!!!

Default delta du

delta is more into the science of waterfowl and habitat, du is into preservation of wetlands , they both work together on waterfowl issues I believe .

I was a member of both years ago.

I found that Ducks was a wetlands/land management organization.
They seemed to downplay hunting and hunters in their communications….out of sight, out of mind for the rest of their sponsors.

Delta was a more proactive, pro-hunting organization. Along with land management, they also looked at predator control and other means to increase duck numbers.

The Delta magazine was very pro-hunting.
