I tried the old walleye hole first thing this morning, zero clouds and zero wind, I didnt know where the hell I was!
too shiny out for the walleyes so I went back to the river. Thought maybe Id get another dino to celebrate, and it turned out to be 4 more!
Almost zero wind on the river too, reminded me how much I hate horseflies!
Same kind of day as yesterday, even the fish were the same, 4 sturgeon and a mooneye.
I didnt have to chase my beach umbrella half way to Saskatchewan today, man I hate wind
fish ranged from 33 or 34 inches to a very fat 54 ish incher, I forgot the tape in the truck so I estimated today. got a couple jumps on the phone, and release vids so I will stitch them together and post a link. What a great way to spend a birthday!!!!
The river came up a good foot while I was sitting there, hopefully it keeps rising for the spawn.

I did not see any spaghetti tags on those 4 fish???
Are sturgeon still being tagged for study??
If not, it is a very good sign!

I asked about the tagging program again last year, they were going to review it and Ive heard nothing since. We were using RFID tags when I tagged after the first season, plus spaghetti tags, then dropped the spaghetti tags. I was taking them out of most of the ones I caught because no matter how long ago they had been tagged with one, almost every one was still infected or raw that I caught. Now you wont see a tag they are only detectable with a scanner., there are probably lots still in the rivers with spaghetti tags though
