Just out of curiosity, why open carry vs concealed?
I'm fairly indifferent on how I feel about being allowed to carry in Canada. But if I were to carry, I would much prefer concealed. (when not in bush/ hunting environment that is)

The petition would gather much more support if it was to allow restricted weapons to be carried where firearms can legally be discharged.

My thoughts are is that it is a freedom of choice. If I'm deemed responsible enough to carry a rifle why would it make a difference if it were a pistol. The problem I see is who is deemed responsible but that can apply to anything.

my comments were regarding the petitions subject which is self defense. Carrying in the wilderness is completely different than carrying in a city.
carrying in the wilderness would be fun, but thats not what the petition is about.
as for sticking me in a room of americans and not knowing whos packing, if its open carry, shouldnt it be VERY easy to see who has a gun strapped to their hip?

It took a pro gun conservate majority years to even get rid if the gun registry. Between that and open carry for pistols is miles and miles of reality.
