You’re welcome. Late to the party had to watch it on the PVR. What a goal and what a game. Fun, fast and furious. Hope it holds we got a couple bottom feeder teams coming up next 2 games.

At least a few of the 50 front page Leaf write ups will have to have SOME Oiler content. Then again the TO media probably think it was the Leafs vs the Leafs, as nobody else in the league is in the same class as them. You know, with all those cups they keep winning
That 97 goal was REDICULOUS! How does a guy possibly defend against that kind of trickery? He was by him clean in a split second, just wow.
That kid is a magician and his stick is his wand.
That's a tough barn to get points in, well done boys!

Me too.
Love the energy and all out effort he brings on every shift. He looks like a different player than he did a year ago. Smart plays, good positioning, and reading the game far better. Jay Woodcroft is doing a great job with these guys in Bakersfield.
Really makes me want to bring Benson up and see what he can do...

Good points. Khaira should be a little worried. I like his size but there should be more there.
I think the Oilers should just stay on the road and keep playing good teams.

He'd be my pick to go down to Bako. He needs to find his game and his scoring touch. I've heard a lot of stories about how good his hands and his finish are in practice, but he can't seem to get it going on game day. He was invisible on a line with Sheahan and Archibald the last couple nights, other than the few times he turned the puck over...
Benson could slide right in on that 3rd line and provide some much needed scoring touch. Ideally though, I'd like to see Benson get some top 6 minutes. I really like the Nuge/Drai/Yamo line, I'd like to see it stick together for a few games, but, to get Benson into the top 6 you move Nuge or Drai back to LW with Connor, the other one stays at 2C with Yamo and Benson. The other option is to throw Benson on LW with Connor and Kass. That's a huge ask for an NHL rookie and likely a handcuff for McD at least to start, but I'd like to think he'd take that opportunity and run with it. I like Neal, but he really isn't an LW1, and clearly doesn't have much chemistry with McDavid at 5 on 5. Bumping him to the 3rd line is the obvious answer, (Neal/Sheahan/Archibald would be pretty solid) it all depends on how he handles it.
Nygard would be the other candidate to go down to Bako in my mind. The speed and tools are so enticing, I think he's going to be a player, but he hasn't learned the NA game well enough to be a solid NHL'er yet. Some time in Bako might do him good.

So Oilers on a bit of a hot streak, and Canadians on a horrible stretch of like 7 losses in a row. This sounds like a game that could end up not at all like it should. Better hope Oil aren't looking past them to Saturday night instead. Or could be a blowout haha

Their all paralyzed by Connor’s goal against the T-Dot and seem to forget they need to score in Montreal!

First two periods I thought that the Oilers had eaten too much poutine before the game......not good at all. They came out on a mission in the third and that made the difference. I used to cringe when I saw Smith in goal but he’s really been on fire the last four games.......really good!
So, how much longer before Coach Therien is fired?

Hard to say, BUT the HAB's have 4 of their top 8 forwards on the injury list

Nygard looked good, Khaira did not. I'd be sending Khaira to Bako and bringing up Benson ASAP. I don't think I'd throw him into the BOAB for his first NHL action, but I'd get him on his way to Edmonton and let him get settled in.
I'm really liking the Sheahan acquisition. I'd definitely like to have him locked up long term.

Secondary scoring is outpacing the big guns lately. I was very surprised to see Smith start yet again. Thought we might have been pushing our luck. Montreal have their problems and Smith got some breaks but he was still good in this one.

I agree Khaira is struggling but we need to trade him. He would not clear waivers if we tried to send him down. Someone would pick him up and we would get nothing.
