Yes. Monday will be better. First game after a break while the other team is playing through is tough. You come in flat and they are already hard at it.
We did better than I thought we would.
End of the day it says to me that we really need another impact forward. When Dri and McDavid play together they are crazy good but the second line struggles.

Unfortunately they looked like the old oilers than blow leads late, could see this one coming the leaf's were a much better team in the 3rd, won all the puck battles, faster and clogged up the middle, I guess 1 point is better than nothing but it doesn't feel like it

I'm not a fan of loading up the top line like that unless we're behind, need a spark, etc. This worked a few weeks ago against Ottawa when these guys weren't scoring much. Got them going. Was surprised they were together against the Leafs. Oilers were 33% in the circle last night. Yikes. Draisaitl had to take a defensive zone draw and then peel off the ice.

Agreed. They’re magical and dominant together, but they can’t play the whole game, and that leaves us a second line that simply isn’t good enough. Kahun is not a top 6 winger, and Nuge is not good enough as a center to drag him along.
We were pretty even with the 3rd and 4th lines, but we got caved pretty badly in the battle of second lines, too badly for the best 1st in the NHL to overcome. I’d love to see a quality 2C or 2LW brought in that would keep that top line together, but in my opinion, they just a better team with McDavid and Draisaitl apart.
As a side note, it really does show just how valuable Draisaitl is, he’s made those same two wingers into a solid second line.
