Can you say "unlawful confinement?"

I'll have to ask my acquaintance who does security at the Royal Alex about this considering it's probably had the most gunshot cases of any Hospital in Alberta.

For the record I call BS.

So they are concerned about someone still targeting the victim and they lock the doors? Are they locking that someone in or someone out? What if that person is already in? If that person wants to leave and he is a shooter, is that really a good idea. Unless the hospital you mention is the funny farm that seems to be BS.

Nope! I am just saying that you do not have a clue as to what you are proclaiming! I am not the only one that called BS on you.

I know for a fact that the same thing happened in many communities here. Even those that did comply did not register all guns and held a disdain for the once respected authorities.

Most of the folks I grew up hunting and shooting with were veterans or knew well veterans and their stories of the police state that Hitler had created. They saw the registry as an assault against our rights and freedoms. I still do.

On the other side of the coin, police are advised to keep to themselves as well. I know of a few guys that joined the force and they no longer socialized like they did before.

You have already shown your true colors in your willingness to ban legal hunting in the discussion over spears AND your willingness to throw legal shooters under the bus in discussions over banning scary black guns.

We really have nothing to talk about so please harass someone else.
Does it ever cross your mind that it is just you that they don't want to socialize with? I don't know if I have ever met you, but I do not have any burning desire to socialize with you. Get over it! If cops do not like you, I can understand that and I do not think it is the gun registry that drove in the wedge.

Please continue to delude yourself and blame the gun registry.

A few years ago two young officers in RMH were told out right to avoid the bars or look for other work.

Back east I know 3 or 4 friends that went into the RCMP and said they can no hang out with the boys any longer or risk their jobs.

I cant wait till my facebook memories pop up from my stupid late night selfies as i was trapped. It was the first week or two of november last year. I remember thinking id miss my big hunting trip due to how sick i was. I was on my death bed... when i went to leave they wouldnt unlock the damn doors.

I thought it was hilarious... i was finally released by the drs but trapped inside lol. They finally let me out by 1230 or 1 am.

I just about forgot all your dribble but I think you said that it was the gun registry that drove the wedge between the towns people and you bosom buddies the cops? Keep your story straight.

I do not have any problems with the detachment bosses telling their guys not to get drunk with the locals.

If you don't want to be called a liar, quit with the BS.

No it hasn't crossed my mind or the minds of thousands of other gun owners.

When you create and enforce laws like the long gun registry and bill C-71 turning law abiding folks into criminals, you drive a wedge between the citizens and law enforcement.

Obviously people that blindly follow unjust laws like yourself don't get that. The rest of us do. You can't even understand how the subtle move to ban lead is a step towards further restricting our freedoms on the other thread. You don't get that banning an AR because it looks scary is a threat to all gun owners and you don't get that banning spear hunting is an attack against all hunters.

You just don't get it so lets just leave it at that.

Well if it ever happens to you again just remember to walk over to the fire exit and push the panic bar to release the door.

How sick you were? Death bed and hilarious don't seem to go together. Did it ever occur to you that since you thought you were on your death bed maybe they thought you were really sick and tried to trick you into staying and it had nothing to do with the gun shot victim that was admitted and the reason for the alleged lock down?

There is more B.S. on this thread than there is within a mile of Picture Butte.

No wonder this province let alone the country is failing.

Don't poke yourselves in the eye waving good bye. Jeebus.

People who blame the LEO's for things like the gun registry, the removal their "rights and freedoms" are simply ignorant.

Yes LEO's are required to enforce the laws ..... that is correct ..... BUT .....LEO's don't make the laws .... your elected legislators do.

Focusing so much misdirected anger toward those who's job is to uphold the law, is utterly ridiculous.

The fact these guys often have to put up with this constant nonsensical harassment from people like this is such a shame.

Holy F'in Wacko World!!!
Don't let 2 or 3 trolls in a public forum lead you to think they somehow represent the rest of the population of firearms owners.

The trolls would not be willing to talk so freely if they were held accountable with their real identities.

I have been following this post from the start, as I feel for the officer involved, as I do believe this to be an accident, and accidents can happen to anyone,

However, this thread as it unwound, (cant say it progressed) it reminds me of a quote I once heard;

'WISE MEN SPEAK BECAUSE THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY---
FOOLS, BECAUSE THEY SAY SOMETHING'

And there it is, "Internet Tough Guy" showed up.

If Police Officer can no longer be friends with you because of "activities" you are involved in, then I think problem lies with "your" lifestyle as opposed to the RCMP in general.

When laws like C-71 and the Long Gun Registry make criminals out of law abiding citizens you are absolutely right.

Like I was trying to explain on the LAW that says doctors, nurses or EMS personnel have to report gun shot accidents. WHY IS THAT????

It is an accident with a tool. There are no more accidents with these tools than there are with saws, knives, ladders etc.,etc., etc.,

It is a BS law designed by Liberal blow hards and backed by police to restrict our freedoms and discourage/demonize gun ownership.

A doctor or other medical professional can tell if you were cut with an accidental high stick or beaten with a hockey stick behind the bar. The same thing applies to firearms but we are harassed.

The police know this yet use any opportunity to pry into our personal lives and make things difficult whenever possible. They will not use these same procedures in this case AND I AM OKAY WITH THAT BUT NOT THE DOUBLE STANDARD.

The High River gun grab is a perfect example of police alienating themselves from the community. They were not looking for criminals, they were again harassing law abiding gun owners.

Anyway, you people believe what you want. Many police are in fact your friends and many would like to see the Liberals win and have all guns in the hands of law enforcement. You decide which is which.

As far as the individual goes, I wish him a speedy recovery.

BTW an internet tough guy is the one that calls another man a liar without risk of retribution, not the guy that stands up to them.

Default Occupational hazard.

I’m not sure why this is a big deal. The officer was handling a firearm and had a negligent discharge luckily no one else was hurt. Accidents are a part of life he will have to evaluate what went wrong and make it never happen again.
I hope he heals well and it doesn’t physically hinder him in his occupation.

Well fellas, this one took a major detour many miles back and ended up in the funny farm.

I don't know what it is, maybe lessons learned in days gone by, but I just personally have a hard time stomaching people calling the men that wear the uniforms, idiots.

To the LEOs who read this, I apologize on behalf of the ignorant comments. 99.9% of us appreciate the jobs you do, and we know that you take orders the same as we do.
