I watched Lupul play here for a couple years with the Tigers.
When he was on his game he was simply dominating.
Problem was he had a few too many indifferent games too,and his attitude was questioned .
Maybe he has finally figured it out....or this won't last

Makes sense, I caught the tail end of an interview he did for tsn I think it was yesturday and he was talking about working on that part of his game trying to be more consistent and bringing it every night...maybe all that ass time he had gave him time to think about that..

We can have some trash talk in the coming weeks when our pathetic teams play each other.

I see 3 games against the oilers in the next 2 weeks.
I say us flames fans put up that god awful leaf picture if we loose the series, you guys put it up if you lose.(aviatar)

Who wants in on this?

So as an impartial observer (go leafs!)

The terms seem to be as follows:

Best of three in the remaining games of the battle of Alberta.

Losers wear the hideous leafs avatar for a period of no less then a week and no more then two weeks to spare the ocular trauma the rest of us will incur.

Unless someone else has a better avatar?

Typical Oil fans. They can run their mouths with the best of em, but when push comes to shove, they'll rarely step up to the plate

I'm a life-long, die-hard Canucks fan....but I was actually pleased with last night's game! I'm really hoping for Edmonton. I've been following every episode of "Oil Change" and want them to succeed!
Good for Hall last night! Broke a franchise record that was previously held by Gretzky!

I even have an Oilers hat that I wear on occasion!!

Living in Calgary for the past 12 years has changed my view towards the Flames. Once my second favorite team, I've come to despise them. 12 years of "all-of-a-sudden-since-'04-Flame's-fans" screaming "Canucks suck...Oilers suck...blah blah blah...we won a cup" When in fact the past 20 some odd years has only proven that the '04 run was merely a flash in the pan, and that the current team, players and organization is pretty much a sad excuse for a team.

Go Oilers.

Bessie... I assume you are a delusional Oiler supporter?

Bet is this.
Oilers flames play each other 3 times in the next 2 weeks
First team to win 2 games (including shoot outs) is declared the winner.

Supports of the losing team must put up that Leaf aviatar for 7 nights within 2 days of their team losing the match.

Side bets are allowed and encouraged.

Go Oilers.
And how many Cups have the Nucks won since there entry into the league 40 odd years ago...

Flames/Oilers fans have way more class than your average Nucks fan, win or lose and you can bet the city will burn, man that must be embarrassing.

I am in, go Oil!
I have decided not to comment on this years thread because listening to Oiler and Flames fan argue over who's team sucks more, make me envision 2 hillbillies fighting over who's fresh dump smells better.

But I can get behind this wager. Who knows maybe Jamie can hold the door for me at the dome at the next battle of Alberta!

I'm am happy to see the Oilers are not languishing near the bottom of the conference this year. I do not expect them to make the playoffs either. Especially after being last in the legue for the past 3 years, but this year there is forward process and it makes me happy.

I Think the Oilers are a couple moves away from being a stro g playoff team ext year and for a few years to come. It remains to be seen if Tambo, Lowe, etc have the testicular fortitude to make the moves needed ie. letting one of the kids go to make a big deal for some much needed D.

I feel for Flames fans. Not much to be excited about in the Iggy deal. Kipper giving the club no options and a sparse outlook as far as prospects go. top that off with a management group that has a poor track record of drafting and I am afraid Flames fans are in for some lean years. At least 5 more of no Playoffs, which is too bad, how great would it be to see a battle of Alberta playoff series!

Anyways hopefully we get a few of the supposed Oilers fan to man up for this bet and make the games that much more interesting!

Where was the betting earlier in the year? Why didn't the brave flames fans if so confident bet on who finishes higher in the standings end of the year?
So lets grasp at straws and cross our fingers and toes and find redemption in 3 games vs a rival........ Just like feaster not saying rebuild.

Lets hear some predictions for tonights Battle of Alberta.

I got the Flames winning 4-2

The 29 other NHL teams and I would like to thank Tambo for re-upping that pylon Smid for a couple more years. That contract is what I would've expected from Sutters days as GM here.

Lol if you think Smid is a pylon then you have zero clue about pro hockey.....lol the media was anticipating he would fetch about 4 mill on the open market there was a ton of GMs asking for him

I hear Kippersoft may ride the pine tonite so he doesn't get hurt before he gets traded to TO

based on past history of trades with leafs, we will get fleeced if that is the case. Oh god dont make it so. wonder if we can throw Feaster in the deal

Sutter (LA) just got Regehr back for 2 2nd draft pics, We got Butler and Byron last year for Regehr, man Feaster sux!!!!!!!!!!

Actually kudos to Oilers, it was a good signing today. pains me to say but true story, Smid is worth the contract

The Calgary Flames have traded defenceman Jay Bouwmeester to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for St. Louis' 2013 first-round draft pick, defenceman Mark Cundari, and goalie Reto Barra.

The 29-year-old blueliner has scored six goals and nine assists in 33 games with the Flames this season.

Bouwmeester has one year remaining past this season on a five-year deal he signed prior to the 2009-10 season worth an average annual value of $6.68-million.

A veteran of 10 NHL seasons, Bouwmeester holds the NHL record for most games played without a playoff appearance, breaking Guy Charron's long-standing record earlier this season.

He is the sort of Dman the Oil needs, but theres no way the Flames would have sent him up the QE2.

Full rebuild mode is underway here. I like it. 3 first rounders this year

...and in a good, deep draft year, hope it works out. Would like to see some of the rivalry from years ago return with 2 great teams.....

It is a conditional 1st. If blues dont make playoffs this year, we get 1st pick NEXT year and will garner a 4th round this year. If they make the playoffs, we get the first this year and two freakin prospects no one has heard of. FIRE FEASTER thread coming, ludicrous.

Maybe three maybe two, you get a high pick when you finish bottom 5 this yr, a real late from Pitt prob 25-30 and if St Louis makes playoffs u get a first this year, if they miss you get a first NEXT yr and a 4th round this

Smart move St Louis
