So if Iggy doesn't sign with Boston we would still get the 2 prospects with a shot at re-signing him in July if we wanted..if this is the deal I'm starting to warm up to it, either way...

Dreaming no one wants Whitney , Iggy will land on his feet. The embers will realize there 4 years behind on a rebuild . TO fans and Nuck fans will believe they are cup bound . Peguins and hawks in the finals .

Feaster on TSN right now. Explaining the trade, tough sell that ownership have done everything to win a Stanley cup
Looks like the Pens are going to be sipping champagne

Wow!! I guess that makes Pittsburgh cup favorites!! Goes to show that the best hockey reporters in Canada still get it wrong. I stand corrected.

@FriedgeHNIC: Kenneth Agostino and Ben Hanowski, plus a first-rounder in 2013
Wow that came from nowhere

I admit I know nothing about these two college players but I think the Boston deal was a better deal

Well, iggy has a serious shot at the cup.
Don't know how I feel about the return we got.
I will miss him and the city will miss him as well.
Classy guy
Great hockey player
Great leader
Great teammate
We were lucky to have him. Other teams should be so lucky
Good luck Iggy.
Go Penguins Go

No kidding! Damn. I was misled. Lol. I was thinking all night how he'd help Boston beat Pitt, oh well,

I already feel sorry for these two young players. Gonna be A LOT of pressure on them. I'm wondering if Iggy didn't deny a trade to BOS to be in PIT. Seems strange, the way this went down

Boston was in his four team list, I think Boston offered a bit more?
All I'm sure of is. It sucks for Boston

Weird trade a 3rd prospect, a 5th round prospect both outa the NCAA and if Pitt goes far in playoffs it would be a 25-30 1st round this year ..... Kinda underwhelming

I think Calgary got a 1st round pick and the two players. Boston would only give a conditional pick. And two players. Boston must be learning from the Patriots, set a price and don't blink.
Interesting nite

"Agostino, a forward, is in his third year at Yale. The 20-year-old, Pittsburgh's fifth-round pick in 2010, had 15 goals and 37 points in 33 games.
The 22-year-old Hanowski is in his fourth year with St. Cloud State. The forward, drafted in the third-round by Pittsburgh in 2009, had 16 goals and 29 points in 34 games.
Both players are currently in the playoffs with their teams."
Plus a first round final four pick.
Wow ....
But I'm sure a Calgary fan will tell you all day long how this is better than hall, ebs, RNH, yak, mags & Schultz because they are older & not first round picks.
But good for iggy, he's put in his time & deserves a legitimate chance at a cup.
Something that he would never have seen if he had stayed in cow town.

Peter Chiarelli must be about right now! One thing if he stayed out West but to have Feaster drive the price up as high as possible (rightfully so!) then have him go to your #1 competition out East, ouch!

I'm lost. Could someone summerize the trades and what is/isn't going on?
EDIT - I just read through the thread again.....Iggy is going to Pitts and not Boston?
