Hope so, that was a nice looking PP, even though they didn't score.

Refs trying to even things out now? Thought those were both pretty weak calls.

What a great game, a shorty, less than a minute into the 3rd.

Any of you guys got your Crown already?

And he's done it, Neal is now -24, tied for 3rd last in the league. Lets take control of 2nd tonight though Neal, why stop now?

Sounds like we came to play tonight, that's awesome. I am pumped we are showing how deep we are, again 5 goals 5 different players. I will take a slow start to the season, if we finish strong and do something in playoffs.

Seems like, with a 5-1 lead, we are slowing down a bit though...

Gotta love that James Neal. Did he even play tonight? Didn't really notice him.

They like to call him Real Steal on the Oiler thread but they obviously don't understand basic stats.

After 40 games he's -21 with 6 even strength goals. That means he's been on for 27 against.

Should really call him James (The Real Liability) Neal. That has the proper ring to it.

Did you guys know this.. I think that with a bit of luck, our new coach could be the Team Pacific head coach.

That would not make the NHL happy in the least. LOLOL I would kill myself laughing.

Could just feel this one coming, good night to be a Flames fan!! Could imagine trying to dump Koskinen's ability & contract. The real steal should get stolen by the AHL affiliate......

There are people on this forum that actually believe plus - minus is a bogus useless statistic. I believe it is a difference between winning and losing.

For a player with his liabilities, + - speaks truth. Lazy, cherry picking one way player past his prime.

Dumb luck really, he's had one foot in the bench and they've scored, 24 times now....

They interview, I believe it was Reid Wilkins, from Edmonton on 960 today. His opinion essentially was that Neal excels on the PP and is a liability at 5 on 5. Hard to argue that point.

As his teammate, you'd just want to slap him 6 times a period. Just can't say that about Looch, if you're not uniform blind it's easy to see who won the trade. And the 'keepers!! And Reider!

What we’re seeing now on this thread is commonly referred to as

Catharsis.....

Bessie, I think your boys are in trouble. They look jaded & tired right after a 3-day break, your 2 big boys played a lot of hockey already, & there ain't enough long green left to pay some extra help......

So it would seem. Four wins in their last fifteen.

Never liked him here either. Sign a huge contract but don't bother to get in or maintain your condition in the off season with the excuse that you've played a ton of hockey in the two previous seasons. Speaks to character or lack of same.

What were seeing with the team up north is the beginnings of what is commonly referred to as circling the drain

I think both teams are starting to assume their natural destined orbits for this season.

If we’re still in the hunt come Feb.. I’m a happy fellah

Yup, and when he can't even excel on the PP anymore, he's a boat anchor that pulls down the whole team with the ice time he gets. But don't tell that to Oiler fans, he's the "Real Steal" up north

Gotta admit Bessie you're one of the realists on that thread.

Others see that team string a few wins together and they pull out their Springsteen 8 tracks and cassettes and start singing along with Glory Days. What they fail to realize is that aside from the two wiz kids, it's an American League roster with questionable goaltending

And to top it off, if one of the wiz kids doesn't get to play with the other one, he can barely put the puck in the ocean off the wharf. (Gotta love Howie Meeker)

Vegas did us a nice favor last night, time for our boys to make hay!

Demko starting instead of Markstrom so that's a start. Hope they play as well as they did against Oilers. Fast and soon as game starts.

This game is kinda a wash for us Oilers fans. Just hoping it is not a 3 point game.
